Hollywood Kid

Lets talk about "Watchmen."

I know its been a while, so lets start off with something we can all relate to.

Here are some reason why you might not have heard of the graphic novel/movie "Watchmen"

  1. You have only recently left the comforts of the family of wolves that helped raise you.
  2. After a 50 year stint in a fallout shelter you have finally decided to come out to "scope out the damage."
  3. During the summer of 1985 you became separated from the rest of your Boy/Girl Scout camp and found, thanks to urban sprawl, that the tree you have been living in is now in someone's backyard.
  4. You are willfully ignorant of your surroundings and whenever someone tries to socialize, you emit a high pitched squeal and run away.
Other than these options, I can't think of many reason why you haven't heard of this awesome graphic novel/movie.

The reason I bring this up, is because of the current legal battle between Warner and Fox. Here, go ahead and read this.

Seriously read it, its a pretty good article.

Now here is my two cents on the subject. Fox dropped the ball. They missed the chance to make a movie that could have been great. Warner has put both time and money into this project that apparently Fox cared nothing about.

At the moment Fox is coming off like the estranged parents that just happen to show up in lives of celebrities once they (the parents) realize their spawn has become famous.

I don't give a shit about the legal matters, this is a simple matter of right and wrong. Fox wants money for something that they have never had anything to do with. Other than the fact that they "own" the rights. Which is ridiculous.

Now, here is a completely over simplified analogy that, I believe, gets the point across.

Lets say I have a really great chili recipe. I bring it over to a friend's house and they love it. They love it so much that they want to have the recipe. I'm like sure give me 5 dollars and I'll give you the recipe (I charge my friend because I am a dick). A couple years later my friend attempts to make the chili for a New Years party, but gives up and makes some chip dip instead. Then 20 years later I am at another friend's house. This friend is having a party, and I'm all like "Hey bro, you should make this chili." So they make this chili and its fucking awesome. People love it, hes getting high fives and invites to other parties. Hell, he even gets laid. Then my other friend hears about this party and is all like "Hey! wait that was my chili! Give me high fives!" (of course he doesn't ask to get laid because he works for Fox and thinks sex is a sin)

Don't take this as me bashing Fox. I don't hate them. They have made some of the greatest movies I have ever seen. Ever. They are a very talented studio, but the head honchos over there are filled with greed. They obviously wanted nothing to do with this movie until they thought it would make them money.

I hope the judge can see this, because I need to see this movie. You got me?
I know I'm just one person and my impact financially on fox would almost be nonexistent, but if Fox keeps this movie from playing I will refuse to see any movie or television show by 20th Century Fox. Ever.

Please don't do this to me Fox. I really want to see the Wolverine movie.

Just find it in your hearts to not be such ass holes. Please.

I just re-read this post. I was pretty mean to Fox. Like some of the stuff I said made me laugh, which rarely happens.
